Season - In many cases, the time of year will influence your choice of colors, fabrics, and dress styles. Fall and winter weddings may call for darker, richer flower colors. Spring and summer will call for lighter, brighter colors.
Color - Color choices obviously will be determined by dress colors. Bridesmaids can carry monochromatic (shades & tints of same colors), or mixed with many colors or just a few complimentary colors. Brides frequently ask for mostly white or ivory with a touch of another color but some brides want mixed colors. Any of these choices can look good.
Dress Style - Sleek, contemporary style dresses may call for more simple elegant bouquets such as calla lilies in an arm bouquet or a simple clutch or cascade. Traditional style dresses lend themselves to clutches, cascades, mixed nosegays and arm bouquets. Victorian style dresses call for more ornate or romantic style cascades and nosegays.
Bouquet Styles - This is mostly determined by your own personal taste as well as dress style and wedding theme. Currently the Martha Stewart look is very popular. This can be done as a hand tied clutch bouquet or a nosegay. In a cascade style, the newest look is cascading down in a waterfall effect.
Flower Availability - Many flowers are available year round but the price of the flowers can vary depending on the time of year. Some flowers are more seasonal and if we can get them at all, the price can be prohibitive such as lily of the valley, hydrangea, and tulips. The most popular flowers for weddings are roses, spray roses, mini calla lilies, hydrangeas and stock. Brides prefer a minimal amount of greens.
Trends - Flower bouquet styles, variety and colors definitely follow fashion trends. As mentioned before the hand tied clutch is very popular. Shades of red and pink are very popular right now.
